Will Owen Finishes 10th in Class Despite a Difficult 12 Hours of Sebring

March 18, 2019 – Sebring, Florida – Will Owen finished 10th in the DPi class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with Juncos Racing in an extremely challenging running of the 67th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts.

Owen began the weekend by taking the wheel of the No. 50 Cadillac DP1-V.R and leading the team in qualifying where he ended up in 6th position. The beginning of the race saw challenging wet weather conditions, but Owen managed to stay trouble-free for the first hour of the race that was spent under caution. Throughout the rest of his stint, Owen managed to move as far up as 4th place before handing the car over teammate, Rene Binder.

With around ten hours left in the race, Binder had no choice but to return to the Juncos tent to evaluate and repair damage caused by debris on the track. The alternator had been broken and Binder returned to the competition with just over seven hours remaining and in 10th place

At the half-way point in the race, Juncos Racing was tasked with more issues from the hit taken by the debris. Continuous effort from the crew of Juncos allowed the team to carry on and finish the race and score a top ten finish. Owen will be back on track on April 13th for the Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix at Long Beach.
